Even though there is not an overwhelming amount of work, we continued to work routes today.  There is an iminent weather front with forecasts of flooding, severe lightning and possibly tornados, so we try to work beforehand what we might not be able to do if there is bad weather. I had a route of twenty-nine inspections and Vickie & Teri had routes.
True to form, when I have such a small route, I stopped at every thrift store close to my route. I picked up four books at the thrift stores that will be additions to my library. One of the books is of a poem called “The Soul of a Christmas Tree” written by Theodore Arnheiter. I normally am not too big on poetry but this one caught my attention and when I brought it home, I set and read it from cover to cover. I can certainly recommend you read this poem if you ever find a copy. Let me quote one passage:
Tell the tale to the world, friend,
And carry this message true:
That all our living souls blend,
If they but only knew.
This is really a nice poem. I hope you get a chance to read it.
I am somewhat new to this blogging stuff but I have learned to love it. I told a friend today that it helps me get things out of my head and off my chest. I have always enjoyed writing and I suspect this blog may help me keep my mouth shut since it is something of a pop-off valve! I suspect though, that what I love most is the contact with other people that the blog creates. There is hardly ever a day that I do not talk with at least one new person. They always help me whether they know it or not. I usually go out of my way to help them if I can.  Mike in Washington, thanks for the call!
I just admitted that I am new to blogging and I am. I have done an awful lot of research and I guess at this point I probably know more than the average internet user. One thing I found important is that a blog have links coming in to it. That means that someone has found your material interesting enough to link to it. I noticed this morning that there is a new link to TerryPlatt.com coming from News and Stuff which is an interesting site with its own strong credentials. I suspect that link to the story about us may be the result of Chuck Huckaby and Dane Carlson. When I first started the blog, I was fortunate enough to find their site so I called and talked with Chuck a bit for some positive reinforcement. Visit their site and see other work-at-home ideas.
I am supposed to tell you about the field inspections business-guess I got carried away on life! No excitement, which is good. Nothing new. Just twenty-nine inspections (29•6.50) and twenty pictures due to properties being vacant and/or damaged in which case I usually take a minimum of three pictures and maybe five so I can choose the best three.
I really have more to say, but not necessarily about the biz, so we will pick it up again tomorrow.
Thanks for the link back.
Chuck Huckaby
