Orphans and Lost Dogs

For those of you short on time: (66•6.50)+(6•10) – that’s shorthand for sixty-six occupancy inspections and six interior inspections.
Everyone must be busy. I had no phone calls today. In a way I was thankful for the break; it gave me time to wander around inside my head and try to round up some of the orphan thoughts, plans and projects. I really did not realize how many things I have going on. Having the time to myself helped a great deal. I have revised my to-do list and adjusted priorities in order to expedite completion of a few things that are really bugging me; like the updated manual. I have ordered Adobe Acrobat 8 and as soon as it is delivered, I will be putting the manual and all future e-books in PDF format.
Vickie and I worked much too late last night but it has become the normal thing to do this time of the month when the workload is heavy. I again remind you that I am extremely lucky to have Vickie in the office every day. If she was not there, I would be doing all the uploading and e-mailing of pics after running the routes. I did do that for many years. It was not a pretty site! So when you go looking for more business, just remember there is a price to be paid.
If any of you have been looking for evidence that I am insane, I may have the ammo you need. Knowing full well that my plate was already full, I took a break today at a public library. My excuse was to look for a book on Adobe Acrobat. I found one and of course I decided to browse a bit!
I ran across “dispatches from blogistam” by Suzanne Stefanac in the new books section
and made the mistake of setting down to skim through it. I was impressed and wound up reading the whole book before leaving to get back to my route. I checked the book out and am delving into the author’s material on journalism ethics and legal issues. If you are interested in blogging and a little journalism history, you will enjoy the book.
I plan to adopt some of her suggestions and I will be publishing some additional ethics material.
One of the late night projects last night was to talk with Jason, the moderator of the “Insurance-and-Mortgage-Field-Services” Yahoo group. It looks like Jason and I are headed for the same destination but traveling our own route. I have been reading the posts at the group for some time now and I think you would enjoy doing the same. It appears that Jason’s mention of TheRepReportâ„¢ had a positive influence – eighteen new members signed up just today!
You will be happy to know that I received another book from my wish list and it has given me several ideas that I will put into practice right now. The book, “Writing Nonfiction” by Dan Poynter is going to benefit you more than it does me. You will start seeing a renewed dedication to some projects that have been idle too long. I really like some of the author’s guidance and intend to use it for the improvement of my communications and publishing endeavors.
I saw a young female Siberian Husky along the side of the road today. She was rather thin and I was quite sure she was lost. I stopped and tried to coax her to come to me but she stayed away. I went on to my inspection and when I returned to where I saw her, she was gone. I called my office and had Vickie look in the newspaper to see if anyone advertised a lost Husky, but there were no ads. It is not common to see Huskys loose in the city – they are too adventuresome to leave unattended anywhere except wide open spaces. I will be looking for her when I return to that area and really hope I find she belongs to someone in the neighborhood and is not wandering around on her own.
Well, that’s my day. I’m off to work just a wee bit on a project for you and then I have to get ready for tomorrow. See ya tomorrow.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you earlier. I use a program called CutePDF….it’s a free PDF writer and will print from anything a normal printer will work from. It works great.
