Mortgage Field Services Business Manual

Another wonderful day.
Work is slowing a bit so I spent most of the morning and afternoon adding information to the Mortgage Field Services Business Manual.
I have all these little robots running around the Internet looking for information and field service business opportunities and it usually takes several hours a day to look through what the robots drag home and decide what to keep and what to trash. I find this is a very good method for me to find new opportunities for myself and all of you. I add the good stuff to the business manual almost daily.
I have added a new category for posting only information about additions and modifications to the business manual. You will find some posts in the future that announce those additions and changes. Some of it is quite interesting and all of it is good and pertinent information for anyone in the field services business.
Yep, another great day. Since things have slowed a bit, we decided to perform a little of our home-grown QC. When we can, we run routes that are normally run by someone else. Since I had no pressing inspections in my areas, I took a small route normally done by my daughter. We do this so my results can be checked against the results she last reported. Having someone check behind you is a good idea for any of you that can arrange it.
As it turned out my results were identical to what she reported last month and she was extremely pleased that I was able to make direct contact with aproximately 35% of the occupants.
My daughter had one property that she had to make a judgement call on last month; it appeared vacant but the power was still on and there was lots of cheap personal property on site. I was lucky enough to have the occupant drive up while I was there and my discussion with her revealed that she was indeed moving out and had been in the process of moving for several weeks – she only showed up in the evenings after work to move possessions out. So is it occupied or vacant? Yes! Just kidding! However, just for fun and you are supposedly reading this to learn about the business, you tell me. E-mail me your decision and I will post the results in about a week or ten days. Just tell me in the email Occupied or not occupied.
All of you know how much I enjoy helping you and how much I enjoy talking with people and trying to get to know them and assist with their field service endeavors.
Today I had only two conversations but that was all I really had time for. I was only out on my route for about two and a half hours.
My first conversation was with a gentleman in Vermont. In our discussion he laid out a little of his past and a little of his plans for the future. The basis for his call was to have me help him determine if some of his assumptions  were correct and to help him separate reality from fantasy. I think we were able to do that and I am really looking forward to the maple syrup he is sending!
My second conversation was with a lady in Chicago. I’ve never been to Chicago but I’m definately going to go one day. This lady had put forth the effort to take on another career that just had not taken off yet. This particular career is quite dependent on weather patterns and so far the weather had not cooperated. A co-worker had mentioned the field services business to her and she called me for more information. Again I think we both gained from the meeting and the conversation.
I have not shared any of my pictures with you lately so I picked a few from the last few days. I hope you enjoy them.
Here’s one I ran across that I have to say is my pick of the week. I’ve been looking for this phone number.

This home was flooded during hurricane Katrina. The house was probably scheduled for demolition or possibly salvage; I don’t know. I think this is not vandalism. I do think it is theft. That is dirt you see under what used to be solid oak hard wood floors.

I will be working pretty steady on the new web sites tomorrow. If you need to talk, it would be a good day to call. See ya!
