Commercial Inspections

I spent yesterday doing commercial inspections and goofing off. I goofed off a lot and enjoyed the day too much. I stopped at four or five thrift stores to browse through their books (my weakness). I found some intersting books to bring home.
Since I goofed off so much I was only able to finish seven of the thirteen commercial inspections and I got home later than I like, 6pm. Oh well, I had a great time.
When I got home, Vickie said we had to go to the post office to mail the tax stuff that had to be postmarked by January 31st. After the visit to the post office it was almost 7pm so we decided to eat out.
So the bottom line is that we got home a little late and I forgot to update the blog. Here are the events for January 31, 2006, one day late.
I LOVE doing commercial inspections. They are usually far enough apart that I can enjoy the drive AND they pay more than mortgage inspections; considerably more.
Even though I really did waste the day, lets do the math.
Math time!
7 insepctions x $45 = $315
gasoline expense roughly $20.
$315 income generated minus $20 = $295
REAL working time = 5 hours
$295 / 5 = $59/hr
See why I like commercial inspections! Keep in mind that commercial inspections are not that consistent. I may get more next week, or it may be months before another comes in.
I have more details to add later. The filming crew just showed up and we’re heading out to do some more field inspection education videos. I’ll be back later.
