An Easy Day in Prichard Alabama

Let me be honest with you. I wanted to say I am very happy that one of my companies has acquired a new account, but I’m probably happy more because of the commercial inspections I am getting from them! Now you know the truth.
I worked three commercial inspections today mixed in with the routine stuff. Just one commercial inspection helps the bottom line but when there are three, well – thats an extra seventy five bucks in this case.
If you are checking in to see what type of calamities I had today, you are going to be disappointed. Everything today was kind of boring and kind of routine. I did not have a lot to do so I did not leave until 1:30. The route was only twenty-six inspections in addition to the commercial inspections.
I’m going to call it a night now. We finished our uploading a couple of hours ago and I started working on some glitches at TheRepReportâ„¢. It’s time to go.
I will be in the office tomorrow. If you want to call, use the office number.

Hey Terry,
I’ve been reading your blog and find it quite entertaining. I live in Maine and have worked for a Field Services Company for about a year now. I have done everything from the Property Preservation side of things to doing the property/occupency inspections that your doing. I’m currently in college and using the job to help get me through. I’ve recently decided that I no longer want to work for the company that I am currently working for and would like to set out on my own. I’m tired of dealing with the “middle man” (my boss) who keeps a small portion of the money from each inspection–it’s only natural that he would do that…I mean he is a boss after all. The main thing that has held me back from persuing companies on my own is the idea of having to buy insurance. Do all companies require insurance to do inspections? I would assume they do, I know all the companies(Safe,Spectrum,Fidelity) that I have dealt with in the past do.
Thanks for any input

It’s a strange, strange world. Yes, I would say just about all of the lowest paying services we perform, mortgage inspections, are distributed by firms that require the insurance.
I suggest you find field service work other than mortgage services. Almost any other field service pays more and requires less stress and less gasoline and no insurance. Go to http://www.TheRepReport.com and spend a little time looking under the menu item called RepReports. Really spend some time there and you will discover why they are there and what can be discovered.
